Validate URLs for correct format and structure.
The URL Validator checks whether a web address is well formed, and shows its scheme, host, port, path, query and fragment. It warns about http:// (not encrypted), credentials in the URL, punycode domains and over-long addresses, and flags non-web schemes such as javascript:. Results appear as you type, in your browser.
Made for developers. Typical uses:
It checks the structure of the address only. It does not visit the URL, so it cannot tell whether the page exists, is online or is safe. To test reachability, use the HTTP Status Checker.
Accuracy: Checks follow the published rules for each format. A passing result is a strong signal, not a guarantee that every system will accept the input.
Syntax and format checks find broken markup, bad JSON and mistyped numbers, but not meaning, business rules, email deliverability or whether a URL is alive.
