Text Tools
Text tools handle the small, repetitive jobs around writing: counting words against a limit, fixing the case of a headline, removing the line breaks a PDF adds, comparing two drafts or sorting a pasted list. Writers, students, editors, marketers and developers use them daily. Paste your text, pick an option and copy the result.
Your text stays in the tab
Pasted text is processed by code running in your browser. It is not sent to FreeToolsVerse servers, so drafts and private notes stay with you.
Counts Unicode correctly
An emoji or an accented letter counts as one character, and Chinese, Japanese and Korean text is counted character by character rather than by spaces.
Free, with no account
Every text tool is free and opens ready to use. There is no sign-up, so you can paste, copy the result and leave.
Clear about summaries and rewrites
The Text Summarizer picks existing sentences and the Paraphrasing Tool swaps synonyms from a dictionary. Neither is a generative AI writer, and both pages say so.
The tools most visitors start with, and what each one is for.
Count words, characters, sentences, and paragraphs in any text.
Count words, characters, sentences and paragraphs and estimate reading and speaking time for an essay, article or speech.
Count characters, letters, and spaces in any text.
Check text against common limits such as 280 characters for an X post, 160 for an SMS or 60 for a title tag.
Convert text to uppercase, lowercase, title case, sentence case, and more.
Convert text to title case, sentence case or UPPERCASE, or to programming styles such as camelCase and snake_case.
Compare two texts and highlight differences.
Compare two versions of a text line by line and see exactly which lines were added or removed.
Remove unwanted line breaks from text instantly.
Join the hard-wrapped lines of text copied from a PDF or email back into clean paragraphs.
Remove duplicate lines from any text instantly.
Remove repeated lines from a list of emails, keywords or log entries while keeping the original order.
Count word frequency in any text to find keywords and patterns.
Rank the words in a draft by how often they appear to spot overused terms or check keyword use.
Sort text lines alphabetically (A-Z or Z-A).
Sort lines alphabetically, naturally, by number or by length, with optional duplicate removal.
Calculate the length of any string including spaces and special characters.
Measure a string in characters, code points and UTF-8 bytes to fit a database field or API limit.
Summarize long text into shorter versions. Client-side processing, no data sent to servers.
Condense a long article to its most representative sentences at a length you choose.
Short explainers that show how the maths or the file format works, and which tool to reach for next.

Each group explains what its tools are for, so you can find the right one without scrolling a long list.
Measure a text before you publish or submit it: words, characters, sentences, paragraphs, lines, string length in several units, and how often each word appears. Useful for essays, social posts, meta tags and form fields with limits.
Undo the mess that copying creates. These tools remove doubled spaces, tabs, stray line breaks and repeated lines, and trim a text to a set number of characters, words or sentences without cutting a word in half.
Change how a text is arranged without changing what it says: switch case, sort or shuffle lines, reverse text, and compare two versions to see precisely what was edited between drafts.
Convert text into formats that other systems expect, including HTML entities and hexadecimal bytes, or generate dummy paragraphs to fill a layout or mockup before the real copy is ready.
Work with the meaning of a text rather than its shape: shorten an article to its key sentences, swap common words for synonyms in your own draft, or hear text read aloud by your browser's built-in voices.
The Character Counter shows progress bars for an X post, an SMS, a title tag, a meta description, a YouTube title, an Instagram caption and a LinkedIn post, so you see at a glance how far over or under you are.
Emoji and accented letters count once, Chinese, Japanese and Korean text is counted per character, and the String Length Calculator also reports UTF-16 units, code points and UTF-8 bytes for developers.
The Line Break Remover, Whitespace Remover and Text Cleaner undo what PDFs, emails and spreadsheets do to text: hard-wrapped lines, doubled spaces, stray tabs and runs of blank lines.
The Duplicate Line Remover can ignore case, keep the first or last copy or show only repeated lines, and the Text Sorter sorts alphabetically, naturally, by number or by line length.
The Text Summarizer selects sentences from your own text and cannot invent facts. The Paraphrasing Tool replaces words from a synonym list, so you always review the result.
Each text tool is a small program that runs in the page. The counting and transformation logic lives in shared code rather than in the interface, and it is covered by automated tests that include awkward Unicode: the family emoji, combining accents, mixed Chinese and English text, and Windows, Mac and Linux line endings. Sentence splitting is tested with abbreviations such as Dr. and e.g. and with decimal numbers. The notes on each page state the rules the tool uses, for example reading time at 238 words per minute and speaking time at 150, so you can judge whether a result suits your purpose.
The Word Counter treats any group of characters separated by spaces as a word, so a hyphenated word such as well-known counts as one, numbers count as words and each Chinese, Japanese or Korean character counts on its own. Other programs make slightly different choices about dashes, slashes and symbols, so a gap of a few words is normal. If you must meet an exact limit, confirm the number in the program the recipient will use.
They compare your total with common limits: 280 for an X post, 160 for one SMS, 60 for a Google title tag, 160 for a meta description, 100 for a YouTube title, 2,200 for an Instagram caption, 3,000 for a LinkedIn post and 477 for a Facebook post as displayed. Platforms change their limits and count links or emoji differently, and an SMS with emoji or non-Latin letters fits fewer characters, so treat the bars as a guide.
Each system counts a different unit. JavaScript counts UTF-16 units, Python 3 counts Unicode code points, a database column may count bytes and people count visible characters. The String Length Calculator shows all of them: the family emoji is 1 visible character but 7 code points, 11 UTF-16 units and 25 UTF-8 bytes.
Paste the text into the Line Break Remover and choose what replaces each break: a space, nothing, a comma or a pipe. Tick the option to keep paragraph breaks so blank lines between paragraphs survive while the wrapped lines inside them are joined. It understands Windows, Mac and Linux line endings and trims the spaces at the start and end of each line first.
No. It is extractive: it scores each sentence by how many of the text's most frequent meaningful words it contains, then keeps the top-scoring sentences in their original order at the percentage you set, from 10 to 80 percent. Because it only selects your own sentences it cannot invent facts, but the result can read choppily, and it works best on factual English prose.
Title Case leaves small words such as a, the, of and and in lowercase unless they start or end the text, handles apostrophes and hyphens, and leaves acronyms like NASA alone. Capitalized Each Word capitalizes every word without exceptions. Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence. The programming styles, such as camelCase and snake_case, split words at spaces, dashes, underscores and camelCase boundaries.
It shuffles lines, words or characters with a cryptographically secure random source and an unbiased Fisher-Yates shuffle, so every order is equally likely, and accented letters and emoji stay intact. That suits informal draws such as choosing a speaking order. For a prize draw with legal requirements, follow the rules that apply to your draw.
