Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Not reliably — scanned PDFs are images, so this extracts text from PDFs that already contain real text, not from a photo of a page. For scanned documents, an OCR tool is needed instead.

No, this extracts plain text only — layout, fonts, and images are stripped out.
