BMI chart for adults: BMI by height and weight
Computed by FreeToolsVerse · Updated · How we check our numbers
A person who is 170 cm tall has a healthy-range BMI (18.5 to 24.9) at body weights of 53.5 to 72.0 kg. BMI is weight in kilograms divided by height in metres squared, and it is a screening number, not a diagnosis.
How to read these tables
- Find your height in the left column and your weight across the top. The cell shows your BMI.
- Compare it with the WHO categories: below 18.5 underweight, 18.5 to 24.9 normal, 25 to 29.9 overweight, 30 and above obese.
- The second table gives the weight range that falls in the normal category at each height.
- BMI does not tell muscle from fat and is less reliable for athletes, older adults and children.
