What Page Speed Checker does

The Page Speed Checker audits a page's HTML source for the most common causes of slow loading: render-blocking scripts, images without lazy loading, missing viewport and charset tags, extra stylesheet requests and heavy inline styles. Paste the HTML of any page (view-source in your browser, then copy) and get a score plus a pass/warn/fail checklist in seconds, all analyzed locally in your browser.

How to use Page Speed Checker

  1. Open the page in your browser, view its source (Ctrl+U or Cmd+Option+U) and copy the HTML
  2. Paste the HTML into the input box
  3. Click Analyze Speed to run the checks
  4. Work through any warnings or failures, then paste the updated HTML to re-check

Who should use it

Made for marketers and seo. Typical uses:

  • Catching render-blocking scripts and non-lazy images before a page goes live
  • Reviewing a template or landing page for common performance mistakes during code review
  • Checking HTML from a CMS or page builder that you can't run through a build pipeline

Frequently asked questions

What does the checker look at?
It parses your HTML and checks for render-blocking scripts (no async or defer), images missing loading="lazy", a missing viewport or charset declaration, the number of external stylesheets, inline style usage, and title and meta description tags. Each check is marked pass, warn or fail and rolled into an overall score.
Does it measure real load times like Google PageSpeed Insights?
No. It analyzes the HTML you paste rather than loading the page, so it does not measure Core Web Vitals such as LCP, CLS or INP. Use it to find structural problems quickly, and confirm real-world timings with PageSpeed Insights or Chrome DevTools' Lighthouse panel.
Why paste HTML instead of entering a URL?
Pasting the source works for pages behind a login, on staging servers, or not yet published, and nothing needs to be fetched from our servers. It also means the audit sees exactly the HTML you are working on.
Is my HTML uploaded anywhere?
No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser and the HTML never leaves your device.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up.
