What IBAN Generator does

The IBAN Generator creates test IBANs for 17 European countries, including Germany, France, the UK, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland. Each number has the correct length, the right mix of letters and digits for its country, and valid mod-97 check digits, so it passes format validation in forms and payment software. The bank and account parts are random, so the accounts do not exist.

How to use IBAN Generator

  1. Select the country
  2. Choose how many IBANs to generate
  3. Click Generate IBANs
  4. Copy one IBAN or all of them into your test data

Who should use it

Made for everyone. Typical uses:

  • Populating test data for a banking or fintech application's QA environment
  • Checking that a form's IBAN validation logic accepts correctly formatted numbers
  • Demonstrating a payment flow in a demo without using a real account number

Limitations and accuracy

The IBANs pass length, character and check-digit validation, but they are random, so they will fail any real bank lookup and some countries' national bank-code checks. They are for software testing only and must never be used for real payments.

Accuracy: Output is produced in your browser and is meant for convenience. Check it before you use it for anything important.

Frequently asked questions

Are these real bank account numbers?
No. They are structurally valid but randomly generated, so they do not belong to any account.
How is an IBAN validated?
By its length, its country-specific format and a mod-97 check: move the first four characters to the end, turn letters into numbers and the remainder when divided by 97 must be 1. These IBANs pass that check.
Which countries are supported?
Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Ireland, Luxembourg, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
Can I use a generated IBAN for a real transaction?
No. Use them only in test environments, forms and demos.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The numbers are generated in your browser.
